MacBookPro に U2711 を繋いで、使っているのですが
2週間ほど前に、突然 U2711 が認識されない現象が発生しました。
結局、とある方法で直ったのですがあまり情報がなかったので備忘録を。
WQHD で接続するために、MiniDisplayPort – DisplayPort の
変換ケーブルを使ってU2711 と接続しています。
ちなみに、使っている変換ケーブルは ATS DIRECT で売っているコレ。
Mini Displayport/ Displayport変換アダプタケーブル 0.2m
で、U2711 の機能にあるモニタ診断を実施してみると
DisplayPort not Connected. と表示されるのでポートは生きている模様
モニタ自身は問題ないから、やっぱり疑うなら
最初は変換ケーブルという事で変換ケーブルを注文。
→直らない
じゃぁ、MacBookPro のグラフィックボードでも逝ったか？
と思うものの、LCD 自体はちゃんとグラフィックボードを利用して映るので
もし故障があるとしたら、MiniDisplayPort との接続部…？
ううーん…
そんな中、先週とある用事で @headcubicle と秋葉原に行くことにしたので
そこで @headcubicle が購入した MiniDisplayPort – DVI 変換コネクタを
使わせてもらったところ、U2711 の画面が映った。
ここまでの切り分けで
1.MacBookPro のグラフィックボードは問題ない
2.MacBookPro のグラフィックボードのコネクタ部分も問題ない
3.変換アダプタは新品購入し直したので問題ない(と思われる)
残るは
4.U2711 付属の DisplayPort のケーブル
5.U2711 自体の問題
DisplayPort ケーブルは意外と高いので、DELL のサポートセンターへ連絡して
事情を説明、切り分けのためにケーブルだけ送ってもらうことにした。
※運送会社が日通だったので受け取りに時間がかかった
で、DisplayPort ケーブルを交換して直った「直らない」
お手上げ状態…やっぱモニタかなーと @headcubicle へ
Skype で相談していると、気になるコミュニティの記事があった。
Dell u2711 displayport problem “entering power save mode”
記事自体は前も見ていたんだけど、余り詳しく見ていなかったのが災い…。
注目するポイントは「DDC/CI」という機能なのですが
U2711 はデフォルトで enable となっています。
何か、良い感じに画面調整を自動で行ってくれるらしいのですが
DDC/CI が enable になっていると、不安定になることがあるというものらしい。
そんなわけで、以下の手順を実施
1.PC の電源を落とす
2.U2711 のケーブル類を全部抜く
3.menu から DDC/CI を disable とする
4.設定変更後、電源を抜き 20 sec. 待機
5.電源を投入し、ケーブル類を挿す
6.PC の電源を入れる
その後、MacBookPro のシステム環境設定 > ディスプレイから
ディスプレイの検出を押すと、DisplayPort ケーブル経由で画面が表示された。
結局、DDC/CI 機能が悪さしていたみたいです。
とはいえ、今までは enable でも問題なく動いていたので何らかの不具合でしょうけど…。
多分直る見込みも少ないのでこのまま disable で様子見ですね。
※動作に支障はないので
もし、同じ環境(MBP + U2711) で
突然、「Entering Power Save Mode.」と表示され画面が映らなくなった場合には
まずは上の手順で修復できるかを試してみると良いかもしれません。

I’m not sure why but this blog is loading incredibly slow for me.
Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end?
